outlook express address book missing......

while attempting to save my address book, i found an option that said it
would move the addresses to be shared with outlook or some something along
those lines, i think. not very helpful i know, but if there is a way to
correct what i have done i would really like to know as now i cant get into
my address book at all it sais 'an error occured while attempting to open the
address book file'

In the Address Book go to Tools | Options and uncheck the option to share
with Outlook.
