Temporary Internet Files
I ran my anti-virus program only to find that I have 2 files infected by
"Java/ByteVerify" virus in "ContentIE5" subfile "6DONKVE5". The report tells me that the virus is embedded and cannot be healed. Can anybody suggest How to get rid of them? Much obliged -- gratefulforyourassistance |

Much obliged The contents of the Temporary Internet Files folder are temporary files and since you don't want this virus there is nothing that needs to be healed but instead these files should be deleted.. I would suggest that you boot to Safe Mode and then use Control Panel | Internet Options | General | Delete Files and check the box to "delete all off-line content" and then OK and then OK again after which I would then scan your system again. Hopefully it will now be clean. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP |
