Epson R200 Printer Error......
Hi All......
This is the error I got on startup....the usual one. And my icon in the tray for checking the printer did not load. Not sure quite what this is.....but hope I have it plugged in right.....the two pins keep falling out and it is not screwed in tight. Cheers....Heather SPOOL32 caused an invalid page fault in module SPOOL32.EXE at 016f:00402075. Heather,
And my icon in the tray for checking the printer did not load. Did you uncheck on of the registry entries for the printer? If so then it could have been the tray icon. I don't have a tray icon displaying here other than when there is a print job printing. Not clear what you mean about two pins falling out? How are you connecting your R200? Mine's a USB printer. The only pins I see are where the lead from the transformer plugs in. Do you mean those pins? -- Mike Heather wrote: Hi All...... This is the error I got on startup....the usual one. Not yet......one has the HKCU ending in Startup and the other doesn't. I have always had the printer icon in the tray. On right click, it is to check nozzles and the like. Which entry should I take out of Startup?? The registry one or the plain jane one. Not clear what you mean about two pins falling out? How are you connecting your R200? Mine's a USB printer. I have such a bleepin' mess of cords behind there that I thought it was the printer....mine is a USB connection same as yours. Have to pull this out and figure out what the blue connection is with the two pins in it that you screw tight. Can't seem to get it back right, but will get Ron to come and hold stuff so I don't send the cpu crashing to the floor.....it is on top of a 2-drawer file cabinet. Cat fur and cpu's don't go together, lol. This spool error was there occasionally from after the try at an XP install by me and before I unplugged everything to take this over to Willy. So must be something stupid with the printer......not my plugging stuff back in. Hope this makes sense......Heather -- Mike Heather wrote: Hi All...... Hi Mike......
Not to worry. I unchecked the *plain jane one*......not the HKCU one which is Per-User Run. The plain jane is Machine Run....which does not mean sweet *** all to me, grin. (oops, that wasn't the word you guys thought it was, grin) Anyway, rebooted and no error, but it doesn't happen every time. Have to head out to another town to pick up my car, so will catch up with you later. Tried the printer and it worked fine and I STILL have this icon in the lower tray which says Monitoring Preferences, Check Ink, etc. Later I will pull all the cords out from the back of the CPU and figure out which one the blue one is but I think it is attached to a Com Port thingie. My eyesight is no longer the greatest, so will get a magnifying glass and double check the *teeny tiny* imprint on the CPU connection. XX for now.....Heather "Mike M" wrote in message ... I'll try and stick my R200 on my Win Me box later but that box is unfortunately dead in the water at the moment. Nothing to do with Win Me but a lot to do with the PC having crashed badly when the power cord got inadvertently pulled out a couple of days ago. It won't restart at the moment but I just don't have the time to check it out just now but hopefully tomorrow sometime. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP Heather wrote: "Mike M" wrote in message ... Heather,
I thought I had explained in a previous post that the Machine Run entry is almost certainly an entry in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP Heather wrote: Hi Mike...... OK....confused as all get out. But I ran Regedit and Epson is where you
said, but under Run- (dash after it, but not in the plain Run one) in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run . This is the "Registry Per-User" one in Startup.....which ends in HKCU. I will type it out..... Registry (Per-User Run) C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\E_S4l2H1.EXE /P30 "EPSON Stylus Photo R200 Series" /M "Stylus Photo R200" /EF "HKCU" The one I unchecked just says the following..... Registry (Machine Run) C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\E_S4l2H1.EXE /P30 "EPSON Stylus Photo R200 Series" /05 "LPT1:" /M "Stylus Photo R200" Sorry Mike......I don't know much about the Registry and will go back and recheck the latter one if you think it is wise. I have also been getting a lot of VSOM errors on shutdown and that is the next thing to tackle. I may just reinstall both Epson and ZAPro to see if that cures it. I am really flying blind here. I will ask my ZA questions in another thread. Cheers.....Heather "Mike M" wrote in message ... Heather,
Run- means that the item is unchecked in MSConfig. I don't really want to comment further until I get my Win Me box up and running and install the R200 but have to admit to being intrigued at seeing a reference to LPT1: (that is, a parallel port) in the unchecked HKLM entry. It's late which is probably why I don't know what the VSOM errors are that you mention. Perhaps you mean vsmon? I'll try and post back later tomorrow by which time I hope I'll be able to check out a Win me box with an R200 installed. At least some sleep might help. Thanks, Mike.......I am now trying to digest this. Been dealing with
painters all day and stuff......my head is not into this. Have to go and clean up the master bedroom coz it is being painted at 8:30 AM tomorrow (ungodly hour!!)..... Of course I meant Vsmon....drat. (G) I am losing it. I know it is a ZA error and I have some questions to ask about an upgrade. Seems I can either use my version 4.5.594.00 with webfiltering as they are not upgrading it any more.......OR switch to a totally free Security Suite. Blew me away!! I am not entirely sure I want that on here......you know I usually stay at least 2 or 3 versions behind. Last one was 2.6.xxx, grin. Talk to you tomorrow.......Heather "Mike M" wrote in message ...
