scanners and cameras properties
I was curious, I recently bought a Brother MFC-420CN scanner/fax/copy device
and initally could not get it to scan. Solved that issue it was a problem within the 'Win.ini' file. But I noticed it does not show in the 'Scanners and Cameras' properties window within the control panel. The device works great though. I've tried using the 'add' button (have disk option) but not sure how/which file to have it locate.I also have a Olympus IR-500 digital camera and when I connect it to the PC it does not show in the 'Scanners and Cameras' properties window but it too also works great. Is this an issue or can it be corrected? When I click 'add' within scanners/cameras properties window it only shows a Kodak camera on the left and under 'Scanners/cameras models it shows Kodak DC-120 digital camera, Kodak DC-25 camera. I've never owned either one or even hooked such a camera up. I've only the Olmpus IR-500 digital camera and Brother MFC-420CN Fax/Copy/Scanner. scanners and cameras properties
Inbuilt support for digital cameras and scanners is spotty in Win98, and is
limited to just those few Kodak cameras If the maufacturer's driver install adds the item to the applet it appears in the control panel, hp g85 does, microtek scanman doesnt. If the driver installer does not add the control panel item, it doesnt show in control panel, it will still work. The device may show in Device manager (system applet in Control panel I think, or right click my computer, properties), -- - Adaware http://www.lavasoft.de spybot http://security.kolla.de AVG free antivirus http://www.grisoft.com Etrust/Vet/CA.online Antivirus scan http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/virusinfo/scan.aspx Panda online AntiVirus scan http://www.activescan.com Panda online AntiSpyware Scan http://www.pandasoftware.com/virus_info/spyware/test/ Catalog of removal tools (1) http://www.pandasoftware.com/download/utilities/ Catalog of removal tools (2) http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/n...aspx?CID=40387 Trouble Shooting guide to Windows http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/ Blocking Unwanted Parasites with a Hosts file http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm links provided as a courtesy, read all instructions on the pages before use Grateful thanks to the authors/webmasters _ "udidwht" wrote in message ...
