Default Win98 to win98se?

I have an old laptop I put win98 on, but I am hoping to upgrade it to
win98se to have USB support. But I only have the win98 install cd. Is
such a thing possible? Would this happen through windows update? Thanks.

Win98 *does* have USB support...
so if your USB is not working you have other issues.

Did you perhaps mean win95?

No, I meant win98, I just haven't worked with it very much and I heard
that only SE had the USB support. But if vanilla win98 supports USB,
then that's great, and SE is not as critical. Thanks for your reply!

"SE" has a number of enhancements but win98 should have sufficient USB
support to to the job.

Windows 98 second edition CD is readily available via torrent.

Don't waste your time installing 98 original edition.
