Default Accessing Internet with Windows 98

Since few months I can't access to Internet anymore.

I'm running Windows 98 and my ISP is AOL.

I can connect to AOL when I use version AOL7 and then I
can read my emails but I can't access Internet pages.

I have tried to install AOL8 or AOL9 but these versions
don't want to connect to AOL. I've called AOL many times
and they are not able to help me.

I've tried to connect to another ISPs (Free in France) and
cannot connect to it too.

I've changed the modem but still have the same issues.

The Fax is working: I can send fax through the modem
(which would mean that the connection is OK).

Please Help !!
