Default Win98 first edition and flash drives?

I recently purchased a Sandisk Cruzer 256mb flash drive for work. I
run it at work on Windows xp pro with no problem. I would like to
occasionally transfer files to my home pc that runs Windows 98
original edition. I noticed that on the Sandisk website they have a
driver for windows 98SE only. Would there be any problem installing
that win98se driver on my pc? Has anyone had success with this
particular Sandisk driver on thier pc running Windows 98OE? Any help
much appreciated - BB

Most of the time, SE is required, the drivers do not work in first edition.
You might get lucky, but I would not count on it.
If you go to ebay, you should be able to get a Win98SE update or upgrade
disk, Don't get an OEM disk and make sure you get the key code with the
disk.
Once you have SE installed, you can use the flash drive, with drivers.
If you upgrade to windows ME, the drivers are included.

Yes, the problem will be that it is extremely unlikely that it will
work. If Win98 SE is stipulated as the minimum requirement, then you
cannot use it on Win98.

Get an upgrade CD from eBay or a large online store.
