I have never figured out why someone would spend two day for making some
pickles. I can get 15 jars of really good Claussen Dills in about 5 minutes at the store.......no fuss, no muss...... Heirloom, old and no sterilization needed "Mart" wrote in message ... Heather wrote :- .....but I *seconded* Ron to do the sterilization chore (be quiet, Loon) Jeepers Lil, what are you using? Meths, Ether? I don't know about HL but I'm as sure as h**l not going to make any sort of comment. Just be careful with the scalpel. Mart "Heather" wrote in message ... ROFL!! JUST FINISHED THEM!! And I smell like a pickle factory.....but damn, they look good. Got 15 jars for 2 days of labour, but well worth it. I think the slicing and dicing is the worst part......but I *seconded* Ron to do the sterilization chore (be quiet, Loon) and that worked a lot better. Now back to the more mundane things in life. There's only one problem, HL, those Claussen Dills have all kinds of
chemicals mixed in with them for good taste and preservation, including yellow color, which is quite detrimental for your body. You just may need 'sterilization', if you eat enough of them (like fifteen jars full) bg. Harry. "Heirloom" wrote in message ... You must be thinking about a different pickle, H. The Claussen's only have
a little sodium benzoate as a flavor preservative and no yellow coloring (the cucumbers are naturally green!). I guess you could call salt and vinegar chemicals, but, for the most part, these are like homemade. You should try them, they are Kosher! Heirloom, old and rarely eat them anyway "webster72n" wrote in message ... You would have to try these to understand, hunny bunny!! They are the
absolute BEST pickles in North America, lol. And I detest dill pickles, btw. Grandmaw's recipe has to be 100 years old and my strait-laced Pennsylvania Deutsch ancestor was using "turmeric"??? Hmm. You can't buy anything that tastes like these, which is why I spend 2 days making them. But total time is probably more like 6 hours. Never timed it, but damn near lost a thumb slicing up the cucumbers.....those *mandolins* are razor sharp!! Lost half of a thumb nail though.....good thing I didn't cut the claws!! Kissies.....PL. I tried Mrs Creutzfeldt-Jakob's Dill Pickles from the Nanomart and didn't
like them. What I want are ones that taste like what you get in Subway and Burger King. P.S.Wood Heather wrote: You would have to try these to understand, hunny bunny!! hi mister buttinski,,,,
thank you for joining...... keep your fingers crossed for me, because i have done exactly what you said a few seconds ago,, including even shutting down o/e. all posts (to me) now look like they have not been read by me at all,,, and heres something else too,, i can even see some other posters who obviously chimed in,, and some in early stages of thread too.... (tearing hair out, can you hear the screeeeeeeaaams!!!) anyway.. i am now posting this as a reply to your post,, and am hoping like charly that when i return in a little while, that i can see my reply,, hey,, i will also post a post called J's test,, a brand new one, because that is where it all started.... the fact that i cant see any of my posts, whether new or replying. finally, thank you to all,, this is all getting a bit weird,,, you'd think that all that wiring inside the box, and all the little chips and their friends, would be aware of the problem and working overtime to fix it... sigh. J "Mart" wrote in message ... S'cuse buttinski Mike, - just wonder if Jeanette actually did the reset you (very) briefly mentioned in your first post. (Unless I've missed something g) Apologies in advance if you've already tried this Jeanette. If so please ignore, otherwise :- In Outlook Express, highlight the winme.general newsgroup (not the thread) right-click and select Properties, then the Local tab and choose the Reset option. (which will clear ALL contents of the winme.general newsgroup). Click to another group and then return to the winme.general group. Hopefully your missing post will have now returned. Mart snip |

Well, I did warn you about the scalpel That you did.....but I believe it was in reference to me sterilizing Ron, lol. I was amazed at how easily the blade went thru my nail tho. I have very hard, strong nails and thanks to you know who for that. It totally grossed Ron out, lol. Tell Joanie the fun is wondering who will find the thumb......rather like a coin in a birthday cake (ugh, grossed myself out!!).....grin. Figgs "Heather" wrote in message ...
