some sort of winsock error?
Hello,
I am receiving the following error message in Windows 98: "WSCGETPROVIDERPATHFAILED, RETURNING WSAEPROVIDERPATHINIT" This error message originally started occuring when I attempted to upgrade Win 98 to Win 98 SE. The upgrade was never successful and I uninstalled any upgrade files as a result of this which seemed to take care of this problem. However, I recently tried to install DSL service on this machine which was successful in connecting, but brought this error message back and will not allow me to open any web browsers or email programs. Has anyone encountered this message before? If so, what is the source of this error and how can it be fixed? Thank you in advance. |
