how can I up grad to microcosoft XP from my windows 98 second half?

1. Make sure your hardware and applications can handle Windows XP.

Remember, minimum requirements give you minimum performance.

2. Purchase a copy of Windows XP and install it. You can probably use an
Upgrade version, but you might find an "OEM" copy to be more economical.

If your machine is old enought o have win98 on it...
it may not have the H/W for XP...

I'd advise about a 1ghz machine or greater and 512 megs of RAM.
Though XP will run on quite a bit less...it will be slow.

Anyway, my personal recommendation would be to backup your data and perform
a clean
install...
or else install XP fresh on a 2nd partition and dual boot
