win98se keeps loading in safe mode. error code drive a, drive d,in dos setup! my memory is 512 mb ddrram does win98 support himem! please help. ronb

Your message is almost impossible to understand.

What *exactly* is the problem you are experiencing? Please describe
it step-by-step including the complete *verbatim* text of the error
messages.

As for himem, this is fully supported in Windows 98. In fact
himem.sys is an essential file that must be loaded during the startup
in order for Windows 98 to load successfully. If you are
experiencing problems with himem.sys at startup then this might be
caused by a defective RAM memory chip in your computer as himem.sys
will refuse to load if it detects defective memory. But we need to
have the actual error message information in order to determine if
that is what is happening in your case.
