Default ADSL modem problem

I have one of the above modems. I have one telephone and
the PC sharing the socket and have the 2 filters requires
fitted. Unfortunately the modem keeps dropping its
broadband connection. There are no problems with the
telephone.
Anyone any ideas?

Cheers
Andy

As I understand it, you don't need a filter on the modem - only on the
phone.

If you have one of the newfangled filters with a split output, be sure that
the proper outlet is used; data for the ADSL modem and voice for the other
telephone equipment.

If you have a simple "pigtail" filter, only filter the telephone equipment;
do not filter the ADSL modem.

Be sure you filter every piece of telephone equipment on the line. I
overlooked a satellite receiver box with a telephone connection and had a
week of intermittent trouble until I realized that installation error. I had
to buy a short stub cable and a "barrel" connector to fit the satellite box,
thanks to the whizz of a technician who set it up. Filters are one way, and
the tech left the equipment connected so that I could only connect the
filter the wrong way.
