Cannot install anything on Win98, everything removed after each reboot
Hi,
I'm volunteer in an association which offers accesses to two Win98 boxes connected to Internet. Theses machines have been setup few years ago, and there's now no documentation available on their setup I would like to install Firefox 1.5 and OpenOffice 2.0 (they have an old IE 5.1 and MS Office 97). But after each reboot, every programs I have installed or every directories I have created and all files I've put into are cleared!!! Does anyone know how the automatic reset is done? By the BIOS? At DOS startup? I understand that's a good mechanism to prevent the messing up of these public machines. But it's too strict because the maintenance is impossible... A+, Dom |
