Default Spool32 error/spool 32 error

Whenever I click on Printer from either inside the Control Panel or using
Start|Control Panel|Printers, I get the below error no matter if I'm in
Normal or Safe Mode:
-----------------------------------------------------------
Spool32 has caused an error in Kernal32.dll

Spool32 will close now CLOSE
------------------------------------------------------------
I click CLOSE and PC locks up. Have to do a CTRL-ALT-DELETE then it shows:
Printer (Not Responding)
----------------------------------------
I then click End Task to clear error window. There is a Canon BJ printer
showing there and I want to remove it and add a Lexmark but it won't allow
me to do either.
Any help or suggestions?

Joan,
Sorry, none of these helped as they apply to a different spool32 error code
and the PC does not have Norton on it.

Try booting to Safe Mode, and removing the printer there.

Noel,

We've been through these steps with Willy last time he posted which was in the
windowsme.printing NG.

Noel, It would not allow me to remove it in Safe or Normal Mode, nor is
there anything in the Add/Remove. I get that error as soon as I single or
double click on it. There are 2 printers and I can click on other with no
problem. The problem one is a Canon and the other is a Lexmark.
