Default Start-up Problem

Whenever I boot up my PC I get a window entitled "Work
Offline" with text that reads " No connection to the
internet is currently available. To view internet content
that has been saved on your computer, click 'work offline'"
I can close this window but it keeps popping up in about
15 seconds. Thanks in advance for any help.

Something that is loading at startup is trying to access the internet.

This could be one of several things:
1- an application program that is configured to automatically check
for updates, and which is getting a little over-ambitious.
2- a spyware application that is trying to "phone home" with the
information it has accumulated from your computer.
3- a virus/trojan infestation that is trying to spread itself to other
computers via email.

Make sure your antivirus software is completely up to date, with the
virus defintions not more than a week old, and do a complete virus
scan of your hard drive. For a second opinion try the free online
virus scan at http://housecall.trendmicro.com

See MVP Jim Eshelman's web page at http://aumha.org/a/noads.htm to do
a quick free scan for possible spyware on your computer. If anything
is found then see http://www.aumha.org/a/parasite.htm for removal tips
and tools.

Use Start - Run - MSCONFIG and go to the Startup tab. Compare the
list of items that are loading at startup with the following checklist
web sites to see what might be "phoning home" and/or which can be
safely dispensed with:

http://www2.whidbey.com/djdenham/Uncheck.htm
http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_content.htm
http://www.3feetunder.com/krick/startup/list.html - has trojan related
items listed

Good luck
