Doug Knox has a fix.
http://www.dougknox.com/ Select "Utility" then "Repair Image Preview and Thumbnail View in Windows Explorer" ....Alan -- Alan Edwards, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/index.html In microsoft.public.windowsme.general, "Altona" wrote: In the my pictures folder the thumbnail view no longer displays the actual image...just the icon.I've searched the knowledge base without any working results.Any ideas? |

If you've lost the ability to display thumbnails of your pictures then
this is possibly due to some of the necessary registry entries having been damaged, often as a result of installing a graphics application or viewer such as Photoshop or ACDSee, To fix this, enter the following from a command prompt such as Start | Run: REGSVR32 THUMBVW.DLL and press enter. Hopefully this should re-register thumbvw.dll and add back the necessary missing registry entries. If not post back as there are other fixes available but this one seems to fix the problem for most users. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP [2001-2004] Altona wrote: In the my pictures folder the thumbnail view no longer displays the actual image...just the icon.I've searched the knowledge base without any working results.Any ideas? |
