Default problem program?

I've been trying to get rid of spyware, adware, etc on my machine (thanks
for all the info so far!!)

If I look under msinfo32, software environment, running tasks, there is a
program called MSGSRV32.exe, described as Windows 32- bit Vxd Message
Server.

Can you tell me what this is/does? Is it adware or just part of Windows. If
it is adware, how to get rid of?

Thanks again, Todd Mcd

It's a standard Windows program. It is only needed when running some types
of programs, so it might indicate there is something running that shouldn't
be, but there is no simple way you can identify what that might be other
than the procedures you are already using.
