Anything in the Temp folder can be deleted from regular mode. If a file is
still in use, Windows will not let you delete it. After a reboot, the file
should then be able to be deleted.

Hi,

I use Win'98 SE.

Is it ALWAYS safe to delete the content of C:\Windows\Temp directory? Do

I
have to boot in a SAFE mode to do it?

Can I delete sub-directories as well? What about files marked as
"read-only"?

I read that in order to get rid of WToolsA.EXE parasite I need to delete

the
content of Temp directory and would like to make sure that I will not harm
anything else when doing it.

Please advise or point to an on-line source.

TIA, Eugene

What have you been installing? Programs use the temp folder for various
things but mainly it is used by installation routines. The programs are
supposed to flush the temp folder after they are done with it but as you may
have noticed, this often does not happen.
