Default Fax help

I have the micro filter installed and It does not degrade the connection at
all.
Thanks for your assistance.

OK. Understood. I think that if you want to wire the HP4215 to the wall
outlet rather than to the outlet on the back of the router/modem you will
need to use a microfilter at the wall socket to isolate the frequencies
used for the "phone service" (and hence also the fax) from those used for
ADSL. Without a microfilter on the phone/fax cable the DSL signal to the
router modem will be seriously degraded.

Sorry Mike for not mentioning it but before posting I had changed the
phone wire coming from the all in one to the wall outlet to the
splitter behind the versalink. When the phone wire was connected, via
splitter to the wall jack I would get no dsl signal. I since changed
that wire to go into the splitter at the back of the versalink. With
this configuration I am able to fax and recieve.

From the HP web site I
see that the HP4215 does indeed have its own built-in 33.6Kbps modem

That is why I'm able to fax. Thanks for that interesting tidbit.
