Default Unable to install software

I need to re-install some software but every time I try
the installation terminates after the setup box appears.
It makes no difference if I use autorun, add & remove
programs or run from the the start menu.Any ideas?.

Hi bazzer,
Is your software compatable with Win98???
If so maybe your CDs are scracht up or somthing on your
PC is not leting it reinstall.
Try contacting the company who made the software and see
if they can help.If not try to contact Microsoft.

Good luck!

Yes the software is compatible because I have previously
installed it.The problem is not isolated to one particular
piece of software, I have attempted to install several
software products that have been used before with the same
result.

Try using the Msconfig utility to stop everything from loading at Startup.
Then install your software and run Msconfig again to enable the items that
you want loading at Startup.
