Default c drive in use by unknown utility

When I tried to install Norton SystemWorks 2004, it would
not completely install and I cannot use Disk Doctor
because it is unable to operate on drive C because it is
in use by an unknown utility.

What utilities use drive C? Is this a Windows problem or
a Symantic problem? I (think I) removed all my old
Semantic programs and reinstalled SystemWorks 2004 but I
still have the same problem.

I have also had problems with my HP printer and two cases
of my my trying to dial out on the internet on boot up but
the dial up problems resolved themselves - or I poked
enough buttons to to resolve them.

Thanks for any assistance. I'm frustrated and ready to do
in my computer.

What were you going to do with Disk Doctor? There is usually another,
simpler, way of doing the same thing without using Disk Doctor.

I was going to try to figure out why GoBack wouldn't
install and perhaps why my printer gives an error message
every time I try to print.

Oh yes, I was uprading my Norton Antivirus program (I use
SystemWorks) because our server has been hit pretty hard
by viruses. I was having problems installing the complete
suite so I decided to use the parts that DID install to
help me figure out why the other parts did not. That's how
this all started - except the printer problem. I don't
know how or when it started.

Thanks for looking into the problem.

I doubt that Disk Doctor would tell you anything useful about these
problems. What happens when you try to install GoBack? What is the printer
error message?
