(OT) How to use Facebook

I got talked into joining Facebook. I swore I'd never use that piece
of ****, but I ran into an old friend who said to look him up. He
told me his Facebook user name. The problem is that there are
thousands of people with that username on FB. When I try to search by
location, it insists that I enter a complete city/state. I know his
state, not the city. Yet FB refuses to allow me to just enter a state
(such as Utah). Why the **** cant I just search by state? Then if I
enter his interests (example camping), I get what appears to be a
google search for the word "camping". Arrrrgggghhhhh......

Then I get the option (somehow) to search all the chat programs like
MSN, AIM, AOL, Yahoo, and others (I do not use any chatrooms, nor will
I).

Maybe I'm just too old to use FB. Seems all the kids use it, but I
cant make heads or tails of it. Their built in "HELP" is worthless.
I tried to use it to find out why I can not enter JUST the name of the
state, but it only tells me to search for the user name. Is FB this
retarded, or is it because I'm using Windows98se and it's not
cooperating due to some sort of Flash Player crap, or????. (I'm using
the last version of Firefox that runs in 98, to connect).

Thank God for usenet. If usenet dies, I'm shutting down the internet
if I have to rely on FB and sites like it, to communicate.

Most of the people I know on Facebook are in their 40's through
60's...thanks for calling us all kids! I feel younger already.
If your friend told you to join, tell your friend to send you a Friend
Request on Facebook so you can add him.

If you're running Win98 and an older version of Firefox, you may have
many issues displaying some things, but the basic functionality of
Facebook should work....such as it is.
