advice please: can't transfer programs
I’d be very grateful for some advice.
A few years ago, I was given a computer running Windows 98SE. It already had some programs on it, such as Word and Photoshop 6, but I wasn’t given any of the discs for these programs. I used this computer for years, but finally decided to upgrade to XP, so I recently got another computer, second-hand, through a newspaper ad. I thought it would be easy to get my programs onto this other computer, but I’m having problems. I tried doing it by copying all the folders with these programs in them to the second hard drive, then putting this drive into the other computer (it had no problem finding this new drive, BTW). I then tried going into each folder and just clicking on the program’s icon (the ‘W’ icon in Word and the eye icon in Photoshop). This always worked in the past. But with Photoshop I got the message “application has failed to start because AGM.dll was not found”, then with Word I got the message “application has failed to start because MS09.dll was not found”. As I’m sure you can guess, I’ve no idea what I’m doing. Can anyone tell me a way of getting these programs onto this computer? Thanks in advance. |
