Default Cleaning Your Computer of Private Info

I plan on giving my computer away. What files should I
delete to protect my privacy? Are there invisible files
on my computer that contains my personal info such as SS#
and credit card info? How do I delete these if they
exist?

Anything that has been entered on your computer and which has not been
overwritten by other data is subject to retrieval with inexpensive software.
What I recommend is that all partitions be formatted and W98 reinstalled.
Once you have all drivers, updates and tweaks installed, run defrag. Then
use this program to overwrite all the free space left on the drive: Eraser:
http://www.heidi.ie/eraser/ Freeware that overwrites the data on a hard
drive.
