Default Id53 error message...another question

A couple of you were good enought to respond to my first
post about getting an Id53 error message. You gave
instructions on what to download and where to get it etc.

My next question is if my computer doesn't work and I
can't open any windows or anything how can I get it to the
computer since I can't download on that one. I have two
others in the house. Can I put it on a disk or something
and take it over the one that doesn't work?

Thanks again for your help

If you tell us which part of Noel's post you don't understand I'm sure someone
will be able to help..

Boot to Safe Mode and run the file direct from the floppy - no need to install
it"

So download CWShredder. Extract the file from the zip. Copy it to a floppy.
Boot the infected system to Safe Mode. Run CWShredder from the floppy.

How do I boot to Safe mode?

Where I'm at on this thing is that the ony way I know to
shut it down is unplug it. When I restart it it goes
throught the motions and ends up on the desktop with the
Id53 message showing.

Thanks

If you can use the computer then go to:

Start/Run/msconfig.exe/General(tab)/Advanced(button)
and put a checkmark in "Enable Startup Menu", Apply, Exit and reboot.

If you can't then you get to do it the hard way, which is...

Boot, the computer and in between the BIOS summary screen and when
Windows starts loading, you have to press either F8 or Ctrl, and if
you've timed it right a text-based menu will come up (the "Startup
Menu"). Most people just keep stabbing the keys right after the summary
screen, until the menu appears. Choose SafeMode.
