Can't access network icon in control panel
Hi;
I've got a laptop with Windows ME preinstalled. I'm trying to set up an office network, but every time I double click on the Network icon in the control panel, I get a message that says "Your system administrator disabled the Network control panel". This is, and always has been, a standalone laptop. I don't even have to logon at boot up - I just go straight into the desktop. IIRC, when I first booted up, I input my name and left the password blank. and I've never seen a logon option since. It's not even an option for logging off! If there's a system administrator, it's me, and apart from using Tweakui, I've never administered anything. Now, I know that wondows networking at the "ME" level is a bit of a black art, so if anyone can advise me on how to fix it, either by using a keyboard, or by re-arranging chicken's entrails over the display, I'd be most grateful!
