Default Clogged Arteries???

Nope. It's the actual folder. Checked its properties many times. Plus, no
"black/white arrow" on the icon, as typically seen on shortcuts. Just 9-plus
GB of essential stuff. Can I safely move it? Thanks.

Hey Joe!!!
Right click the folder and then on Properties.........I'm betting

what
you have on your desktop is just the shortcut to the folder .
Heirloom, old and mine is

Hi, Heirloom and group. Am coming late to this thread, but noticed

that
you
and Alias mentioned the desktop is not the place for storage. I see

that
my
entire My Documents folder is on the desktop of my ME Dell. Not a
shortcut,
but all 9.8GB of it. Can I just move the folder somewhere, and where?

Or
will this monster folder cause problems if I move it -- or attempt to

move
it. Will other apps have trouble finding it? It's a shared folder
(wireless
network) if that's an issue. Thanks for any advice. Joe Starin

Thanks for the replies. I suppose it's proper to go to the last post

to
answer. Of course this is for all. I dragged all my photo folders

into my
documents and also some folders with installation programs. Most of

whats
left are shortcuts of a few kb. I also noticed that for a few days

that
when
I opened IE, I saw "detecting proxy settings" in the lower left

corner. I
went to IE properties, lan settings and unchecked automatic. I think

I
clicked that on a "page can not be displayed" window last week. My
documents
folder now has 1.7 Gig. Will be checking back for any additional

input.
Seems
a little better. I was reading a previous post here about stuttering
sound.
After reading the conversation between Stephen and Noel, I think I'll

let
mine stutter
Thanks
Kelly

Shaving your 'multi-Gig' desktop down to something within reason
should solve your issues. As Alias said, the Desktop is not a

All the more so since the desktop is monitored by system restore

unlike
say the My Documents object which means that system restore could

well
be
backing up files deleted from the desktop leading to even further
potential space problems..

with the possible exception of an 'install program' or
the like and then, just temporarily.

Heirloom, old and only a few Desktop icons

You don't want to see my desktop then, or at least not around the

edge
especially along the bottom and in the lower RH corner. :-)
