Default monitor turns off

I am running Windows Me with NVidia display drivers,
recently my PC starts to hang then reboots or the monitor
just turns itself off. The problem also happens on
startup, the PC beeps several times and appears to start
up normally but the monitor does not turn on.
Help please!

"the PC beeps several times " - this is a warning!!!
You may either have a loose connection, or some part of your PC is not
working properly - most likely the cooing fan on the CPU - open the case and
check whether the fan is functioning freely - and take it into the shop for
checking.

If you know your motherboard model, check out the manufacturer's website for
a description of the beep errors
