Default Memory managers

I have Googled for memory manager reviews, but they are far from helpful.
Anyone have any thoughts on whether a memory manager (Cyberlat RamCleaner,
TweakRam) really helps performance or just uses up resources?

Running W98SE, 256MB, PII350MZ, IBM PC300PL.

Thanks,
Dan Hacker
