Default Typing/PC Crashing!!

Our PC has been crashing whilst typing recently. It is not down to a faulty keyboard. We ran scan disk (thorough setting) and it said there were 0 bytes in bad sectors. What does this mean? We are wondering if its a software problem or there is a worm or trojan on here. Anyone got any ideas? This is driving us crazy? I am surprised I have managed to type this much! Please help.
From Basil.
