Default Copying files from 1 PC to another

I am trying to copy large files from one PC to another. The
3.5 DS HD disks are too small, so I tried to use a 700MB CD-R.
When I try to copy, the CD drive says that there is no disk
in drive or the drive is not ready.

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks,
Marty

This indicates either
(1) this is a CD read-only drive working OK (which
cannot read an unformatted disk), or
(2) this is a CD Read/Write drive but its control
drivers have not been installed.

You may find it faster to send files by email (send
from one PC, receive on the other PC), that is if
disk-spanning utilities (WinZip) do not conveniently
meet yoour needs.

Have you checked the drive with pre-recorded CDs and is it OK? If it's a
re-writeable CD then the second machine might not understand the CD format
or might not be able to cope with the re-writeable media. If it's a
write-once CD then perhaps you haven't closed the CD.

Unless you've got appropriate software loaded, you can't just
copy to a CD. And I think some such software only works with
RW disks, not R.
