Display-Wallpaper
I've never had this problem before but today I "lost" my
wallpaper photo on the monitor. I've tried several times to Brouse, click on a JPG reduced photo from Photoshop, click Apply and OK. I can see it on the Desktop Display in the Control Panel but it won't load to my desktop...and I've tried several photos, including one that has been on the desktop for several weeks, now. I've selected None and retried, even turned the computer off and rebooted. Any suggestions? |

Need Active Desktop enabled to use jpg images for backgrounds. Better choice
is to save the jpg image as a bmp image instead and then use this bmp image for the background as Active Desktop is then not required. Also helps to resize the bmp file to the same dimension you normally run your display at (e.g. 1280x1024 or whatever) as then no scaling is required to have the image fill the screen. Ok, I've right-clicked on the desktop and it's Active for the Web. It won't load. So I took the check off and tried it... still won't load. Then I saved a Copy in Bitmap, even Saved As in Bitmap, and neither worked. It'll load one of the Microsoft wallpapers but not any of my photos. . |

I suspect that the problem was in the format, or whatever, from my digital camera's Photo Software not being fully compatable with my computer. I pulled the desired photo up, and resaved it by itself, not into the original folder in my Photoshop. Its now on my desktop, and I feel like a Geek again! Thanks, Pip, for your suggestion, which tho it didn't solve the problem, it gave me a better understanding of the nature of the Active Desktop / wallpaper process. . |
