Default No Sound on WIN98

Please help!

I can't hear sound on my computer. It used to work ok, but
now I cannot. What steps can I take to get my sound back?

Try going to Start Control Panel System, then going to
Device Manager, and looking for your Sound Card/Audio
Card. If you can't find it, or it has an X or an ! on the
icon, then you must reinstall it. You can do this using
the CD you got with your soundcard or motherboard. How far
does this get you?

Try this:
Looking for your Driver name or file &/or software GO
TO: http://www.driverguide.com/

Still don't know the name or manufcturer of your
driver.On your driver, look for a sticker
with an FCC ID number. Then go to this site to determine
the manufacturer of your card.
