Can I apply Win98SE on Win98
Hi All
I know this might sound a weird query, but I've never had to do it. Friends of family have Win98 machine, but its the 1st edition not the 2nd. Wondered if it was possible to download Win98 SE as a sort of update and basically run it to apply it. Can it be that easy? If so, do you know where I can get the update from? Thanks Laphan |

No you can't download 98SE. You need the 98SE Upgrade CD, or the briefly available
Update CD. Neither are produced or available new any longer. You can search online and at eBay for the Upgrade CD at a reasonable price. Be sure it comes with the 25-digit Product Key. Briefly, Microsoft produced an Update CD, which ran only from within Win98, and upgraded 98 to 98SE. You may still find some available online somewhere. They originally sold for about $20 USD, and included their own Product Key. If you find one, be sure it includes the Product key or it may not work. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP Shell/User, A+ http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "Laphan" wrote in message ...
