upgrading from millennium to windowsxp home edition
i have all the requirments on my system but i wanted to
know if xp will work ok on a dial modem. also i wanted to know if my modem speed was 14.4 kbps and how you tell. it's a 900mzh 128. thanks. johnny |

That will give you an idea as to how fast your modem is, although it is possible for a poor quailty phone line to make a modem operate at less than its maximum speed. If your computer has a 900 mhz CPU and only 128 mb of RAM you should seriously consider adding more RAM to it, preferably at least another 256 mb, if you are going to upgrade to Windows XP.
