Default opening documents

Hi I have been trying to download documents from the
internet from a word or pdf. When the document opens it's
not legiable,(symbols, numbers, etc.) I don't know how to
resovle this problem. I have windows me. Please help.

Kathy,

How are you trying to read documents with a PDF extension? If you don't have
a program that can display PDF (portable document format) files you should
download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader from
(http://www.adobe.com/support/downloa...atform=Windows).
