Microsoft mouse problem with laptop

I have a toshiba laptop with the tiny button mouse. When I
plug in an external mouse it goes crazy. The instructions
say to disable the internal mouse, but I don't know how to
do that. Has anyone heard of this? If so, how do I disable
it?

I took it to someone and they told me that I broke the
port because I plugged the mouse in while the computer was
on. That sounds pretty hoaky to me.

Any feedback?

You can disable your internal mouse in BIOS or in windows. To do it in
BIOS, hit del, F1, or F2 while the memorytest is running after
powerup. Then you get a menu in which you can change hardware settings.
Somewhere here you should be able to disable your internal mouse.

To disable it in windows rightclick "My Computer", choose
"Properties"-"Device manager". Find your mouse, and disable it.
