What operating system are you using?
Did you load all the Service Packs and updates or just the basic package for IE6? Alan "annmac" wrote in message ... Internet explorer 6
Hi Alan,
Originally I only had the basic package for windows 98. I have downloaded some of the updates but not all as yet. Do you think this could be the problem?? Try running the Internet Explorer Repair Tool.
There are two ways to do this. First try Start\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Information. Under Tools select Internet Explorer repair Tool. If this does not work and comes up with an error message to the effect that there is a newer version of IE on the system go to Microsoft web site and access the Knowledge base article 293907. This header for this is:- How to Uninstall IE6. On the second page there is a section on How to repair or return to a previous version of IE. You then need to copy\cut\paste that highlighted entry into the box opened up when you select Start\Run. If successful either way you will get a pop up box with two options. One says install additional IE components and the second is the one you want which says repair IE. Once selected it goes away and does its own thing. I do this on a regular basis and it does make a difference. When I first started doing this it found some missing files which I had to install and generally since then it has been ok Alan "annmac" wrote in message ...
