want to buy new computer and give old one to a friend

Hi all
I am going to buy a brand new computer next week. I am sure it will
probably be XP Home.
My question is right now I have WIN ME How do I get all my personal
documents, Favorites from the internet, All my passwords, etc. transferred
over to my new computer.
Also I will be giving my old computer to a friend. What steps do I take to
make sure that none of my personal stuff or websites visited etc. will not
be still available on my old computer. Thanks in advance.

Since you are moving to XP you can use XP's Files And Settings Transfer
(FAST) Wizard. For a good discussion of FAST and what it can do see Gary

As to cleaning your old PC there are a number of applications that you can
use that can be used to clean your hard disk but note that doing this will
mean that you or your friend will then have to reinstall Win Me.
