Default Win98SE Shutdown Error

Last week I tried to upgrade WIn98SE to WIn2000. During
the process, the upgrade failed citing an error with a
winman file = so still running Win98SE. Now every time I
shut down, the "End Task ..." window comes up but does not
display what task won't close. If I Alt-Crt-Del while
Win98SE is functioning, it shows that "wnscpcc" is not
responding. Any help on how to fix this error is
appreciated.

Ask this in one of the appropriate XP newsgroups. Much more likely to get a
response from people who've been there and done that. Whether you want to
get XP going or to truly regress to 98SE, they have the requisite knowledge
base.
