The model number is written on your VGA IC. Open up your case screws and
check the IC.

Hi,

I bought a "home built" computer at a flea market for $25.00. It had
Win98SE. A week later, the HDD failed. I replaced it and installed

Win98SE
(which I already had). The max display is 16 colors. The display system

is
by Trident (I used a utility to find out). Other info I found during

bootup
is the vendor ID "1023" and device ID "8400". A web search provided me

with a
list of links to brand named computers. How can I find out what model

number
(ex Compaq) uses the same display hardware so I can download the correct
driver?

Thanks in advance, Brad

Before you type your password, credit card number, etc.,
be sure there is no active key logger (spyware) in your PC.
