Default Can't install update.. previous intallation requires reboot

I am getting this message when trying to install an ie6
critical update even after a full reboot. I assume there
is an entry in the registry telling windows to complete a
previous install (unknown). Does anyone know where to find
it, or how to cure this problem?

Look for a file in the Windows folder named wininit.ini....if found, re-name it to
wininit.bak or wininit.old
Be sure you only re-name the .ini file if found, not any other found file named
wininit with a different extension.
