Default Antivirus for win9x OS

Thanks, I will consider that nav2002 as a possible solution. yes... it is a
bit old of a system and least likely to get an infection, but I would sleep
better with an active sheild and scanner darkly. I actually had an old
version of McAfee that as supposed to be perpetial... The U-verse ATnT
system has a managed security suite from M but it will not install on win9x
platforms.

Great! thanks I'll try that. I did go for a while off the internet. I will
have to reinstall Avast since I already unistalled that program.

Avast! I still get updates.

Ed

Same here, although the original poster may have left it more than a week
to "update"
(There is some sort of glitch that causes Win98 to fail updating if left
too long)
The solution is to download the 40Mb update and manually install.

Make sure Version 4 is selected

You will have to re-register to get a "key" but it is still free :-)

I using
Avast! version 4.8 Home Edition - Free Antivirus
http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

it works on win 98 and always Updates

You can try most avast! 4.8 programs for 60 days, free of charge. During
this trial period, you have full access to all product functions and to
technical support as well. The decision to buy a fully licensed product or
uninstall the trial program is up to you.

..
For home and home office
avast! Professional Edition 4.8
