IC = Internet Content Provider
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=164539 Yours is a customized version of IE6-SP1 which apparently disabled the ability to use Setup an Internet Connection in referenced tab. Did you get IE6-SP1 from your ISP (download or on a CD)? Who is your ISP? Are you having a problem with your connection? How do you connect, dial-up, cable, DSL or satellite? -- ~PA Bear frank wrote: IE version 6.0.2800.1106IC -----Original Message----- IE HelpAbout What version (e.g., 5.00.1234.5678XX; include any letters at the end)? -- HTH - Please Reply to This Thread ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE), AH-VSOP AumHa Forums http://forum.aumha.org Protect Your PC http://www.microsoft.com/security/protect frank wrote: My 'setup internet connection' option within Internet Properties-Connections is greyed out. My ISP is Comcast Cable/ I am having no problems however,
when cable goes down I want to use dialup as a backup. I had this feature fine until I had downloaded a security upgrade directly from Microsoft's website. I had to reload my cable software as the security download somehow disabled it. Ever since I have had the feature greyed out. Any recourse to your knowledge? |

Are you Frank, the Original Poster in this thread?
Is Dial-Up Networking still installed on the machine? Your customized version of IE may have disabled or removed TCP/IP. See this KB article for info about this and mo http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;138789 -- HTH - Please Reply to This Thread ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE), AH-VSOP AumHa Forums http://forum.aumha.org Protect Your PC http://www.microsoft.com/security/protect wrote: My ISP is Comcast Cable/ I am having no problems however, when cable goes down I want to use dialup as a backup.
