Default start up failure

What is error 0E:018F:BFF775B4 or OE:O18F:BFF775B4 (I'm
not sure if the letter O is actually the number 00? This
error blocks my start up almost everytime I turn on my
Windows ME computer.

Can I find and remove this error?

I've performed a surface scan of clusters on my hard
drive, did a clean disk scan, a full virus scan, set
searchpoint dates whenever my computer booted up correctly
(they don't reconfigure my computer when this error
appears), and I've shut down all filters. No errors were
dected in the scans.

Neither 0E:018F nor OE:O18F produce a result on searching the MS Knowledge
Base, but both 0E:0 and OE:0 suggest hardware/driver issues.

Have you added any new hardware recently?

Try booting into Safe Mode a few times and see if you get the same number of
failures. If not, then try selective start-ups and introduce one item at a
time to see if you can locate and isolate it. You might find msconfig.exe a
useful tool here.

Having a look in Device Manager, while in Safe Mode, may point you in the
right direction
