WinMe to Win2k - Format Disk
hi,
I have to go from WinMe to Win2000Pro. i have to format the disk before i install Win2000. what's the proper procedure to retain control of the CD Drive, yet wipe the disk clean of all remainants of WinME? all help is apprecitated! Curt |

WinMe to Win2k - Format Disk
Boot, using the WinMe Startup (floppy) Disk and at the A:\ prompt type
"format c:" (No quotes and note the space before the c and the colon after it) Then press Return. N.B. This will completely wipe the C: drive clean - there's no going back! Re-boot with the WinMe Startup (floppy) Disk and select the CD support option. (Note the temporary letter designated (on the screen) to the CD-ROM).This will give you control over your CD-ROM.
