ok here is the deal, I have WinME, using OE6. My inbox
says 4 new emails, with a blue 4, and i have no new
emails. I checked my webmail and nothing there, and i
cleaned out all of my inbox, outbox, sent items and trash,
and still that Blue 4 that says i have 4 new emails.

any suggestions????

Don't worry about it too much - sometimes OE gets these hiccups which arise
from disagreements between your server and OE as to how many files there are
left for download, (check the Status bar - does it say '4 not downloaded'?)

More to the point, a corupt inbox. find the dbx file after removing
anything you want to save and delete it. OE will make a new one for you.

I get the same thing with newsgroups. Some of them display that there's
1 or 2 news items waiting on the server more than there is.

Rick
(using Mozilla news.... same thing with OE though)

I see that in news more than mail, usually a news server glitch that clears
itself, Xnews here.

True, never had it happen in Mail. I figure it's a serverside glitch.
