I am reinstalling windows me on my computer and it had a corrupt explorer error that is why I am reinstalling. The problem is when I reinstall it stops at the explorer.exe and says that it is corrupt and you must reinstall windows. Can I boot to a set up disk and then to dos and go to the windows directory and rename the explorer.exe file and then do a reinstall and will it still work? The machine had some spy ware errors that is why I am installing over want to save data on machine. |

ajv2003, I concur with Mr. Paton.
OTH, I can sell you several authentic Celeron processors for about as much as the several US Defense agencies were paying for toilet plungers several years ago, ...AND, I will guarantee them to work, ... unlike the defense contractors did for the plungers! vbg -- Jack E Martinelli 2002-05 MS MVP Shell/User /DTS Help us help you: http://www.dts-L.org/goodpost.htm In Memorium: Alex Nichol http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/e...ts/nichol.mspx Your cooperation is very appreciated. ---------- "Noel Paton" wrote in message ... it doesn't make any difference either way, AFAIK! -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2005, Windows) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.btinternet.com/~winnoel/millsrpch.htm http://tinyurl.com/6oztj Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's "ajv2003" wrote in message ...
