Windows Explorer problem... need help please...
Hello.
These problems points to an strange Web page and some files that are copying continuosly: I try the Panda Antivirus and also the XCleaner from XBlock. Really there was something like a virus: a worm that was always copying itself. Well up to there all was fine, because also the explorer path was corrected; it was always pointing to an strange blanc web page: "http://www.geocities.com/hedda_marie_tolentino/index.htm" also the files with format: desktop.ini folder.htt stop coping between the folders and disks units. I have found that the problem that starts this was in "c:\windows\web\" where a "foder.htt" file was generated and was the one who started all of this (take care other users that are reading this, so take care of this virus!) and also it starts changing the contents of the "*.htt and *.htm" files in that same folder... and other folders each time it can. however and this is the sad part, I cant see folders in the Windows explorer like "as a Web page" the option is there but I cant activate it... also the files with "*.htt" format are lost now... I know that these files can be autogenerated... how can I do this and restore the original contents of the "c:\windows\web\" folder?... and also how can I do to restore the view like a Web page characteristic to return back to normal?... I have no idea of this virus name, but its dangerous. please give me a hand on this. I have Windows 98 SE and I have try again with the "scanreg /restore" parameter but things are still the same. thanks a lot for your time and dedication. Sincerely, Fernando Almenara. PD. please write me directly to my e-mail account if you can: |
