Default Win 98 SE and Task Bar

Hi,

I have had to re-install Win 98 SE on my PC.
I have again configuered Windows for different users, they have, of course,
different profiles. But all users have the same icons in the task bar.

What have I to do that every user will have his own icons in the task bar?

Thanks...

What specific part of the taskbar--the tray area by the clock? If so, those
are programs be started at boot. You can take out all but the common ones
each user uses and then place shortcuts to the uncommon programs in the
startup folder in each person's start menu that is located in that person's
profile folder. The uncommon programs are probably being started in the
registry run keys and you can delete the entries the

1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run

2. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run

3. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\RunOnce

4. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\RunOnce

5. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\ RunServices

6. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\
RunServicesOnce

7. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\
RunOnce\Setup

Hi Ron,

no, not the part with the tray area but the part on the other side of the
screen.

What should I do then?
(For every user the symbols are displayed which can be found in
C:\WINDOWS\Anwendungsdaten\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch.)

Thanks in adcvance,
Dieter

As far as I know, QL cannot be customized for each user. I would suggest
only keeping the shortcuts that are common to each user and put the uncommon
programs on the individual start menus.
